"Douscha" of the Day

Not sure if I'm vibin' with this "sculpture", lovingly featured in MOCA's First Thirty Years (1980-Present) show. I just don't.... get it. But perhaps that's.... the point?

Half-assed papier mache skull. Check.
Billy Ray Cyrus mullet wig. Check.
Cheap crystal tiara. Check.
Straws (through the eye socket)???? Check.
How avant-garde!!!

Hmmm.... Again..... Maybe the hmmmm is the point? Otherwise I just don't see one. So perhaps the artist shouldn't have wasted their time.

  1. Who's responsible for this? Rachel Harrison? BA from Wesleyan University? Middletown, CT?! What? Where? That's no pedigree.

But to be fair, this photograph shows only a small part...of a much larger "sculpture"/atrocity.
